Day 197- i heart the iPhone

Demolition Dad! SOOOOOOO super-excited that David let out some of his frustration today on our eyesore of a barn. He'll be building another (more attractive) one soon!

Confession of the day: I really suck as a 365 photo blogger! So to all of my loyal readers (all 3 of you!), I sincerely apologize. I usually do take a picture every day. And, despite this week's overabundance of iPhone pictures that I decided to make my unofficial weekly theme, I try to pull out the camera daily (which is becoming increasingly difficult in my present situation). So my problem lies with the actual posting of the pictures. I'll try to do better!

Day 196- i heart the iPhone

Little Mommy tucking her "buddies" in!

This was right after I heard her say, "These babies are driving me crazy!!!"

Day 195- i heart the iPhone

Another day, another doctor's appointment! Boy, are those people gonna miss me after I have this baby??? Today's instructions were to stay on (or maybe start since I haven't really been) bedrest to try and keep the contractions at bay. The real shocker of the day was the ultrasound and growth scan they did that revealed 3 things:

1- My child is terribly afraid to show his face (I have had about 5000 ultrasounds so far and he puts his little hands up in front of his face every single time!!!) Very frustrating, but I guess it'll be a nice surprise.

2- My child is NOT terribly afraid to show his boy parts (during the 5000 ultrasounds he always makes sure to remind us that he is ALL BOY!!!)

3- My child's new nickname is Lou Ferrigno. (If you don't know who this is, he's the guy who played the Incredible Hulk.) And my baby, who should be weighing in around 3-4 pounds right now, weighs around 5 pounds. Which means that if he stays in there and cooks long enough, we might have a 9 pounder!!! Lord, please let them be wrong!

Bye Bye newborn size diapers! You may be going back to Wal-Mart really soon!

Day 194- i heart the iPhone

So I'm really not that great at this whole bedrest thing, however with the growing number/severity of contractions I'm having I guess I'm going to have to start taking it easy soon or Mr. Max will be making an early arrival. So today was my Swan Song at the grocery store. I've never realized how much physical effort grocery shopping (with a 3-year-old in tow) is until now. However, my child was a perfect angel at the store today and that made an already uncomfortable and risky trip a lot nicer. She LOVES the "little carts" at Brookshires and today I made her her own list with pictures of what to put in her basket. Man, was this girl on a mission!!! Quite a determined shopper!

Day 193- i heart the iPhone

Because my child has started to begin many of her sentences these days with the words, "When I hit Baby Max..." I've started to realize that I should take advantage of any kind efforts she makes towards him (even BEFORE he arrives). So it was very sweet today when she finished painting this picture and said, "It's for Baby Max, Mama. Can we put it in his room?"

Day 192- i heart the iPhone

This t-shirt has become quite a joke around our house. A few years ago when my husband was having a bad week, his boss bought him this shirt. I took possession of it pretty soon afterward and have made it a habit to wear it (only around the house) on days when I really DON'T feel like one big ray of sunshine.

Based on my child's behavior today, this shirt was definitely a necessity!

Day 191

Since we live in Benton now, I rarely make it over to the "other side of town" anymore. And by other side of town, I mean where David and I used to live in west Shreveport. But this weekend, on the way to my friend's house in Keatchie, I passed by the elementary school where I used to teach. And what a pleasant surprise it was to see the name of a precious little boy that I taught in first grade listed as the fifth grade student of the year! I know teachers are not supposed to have favorites, but we do and Macon was definitely one of my favorites! I am so proud of him and can't wait to see what kinds of great things his future holds!

Day 190

My Girls!!!

I love these girls! We've been friends since college and still get together about twice a year at someone's house. We've seen each other through moves to different states, weddings, and now babies. This weekend was a special celebration for my friend Lauren and her beautiful newly adopted baby girl Eden. More pics to come on the family blog!
