Day 356

Little Max is 4 months old!!!

Here's some highlights of Max's life right now!

  • weighs 13 pounds, 9 ounces and is 24 3/4 inches long

  • had his first Christmas

  • loves taking a bath and splashing in the tub

  • rolling over both ways

  • loves standing up (with help, of course)

  • almost sitting up by himself

  • it plagued by teething and constant spit up (BOOOOO!!!)

Day 355

Guillermo Elf is in Poinsettia Bowl spirit! How bout them dawgs!!!

Day 354

Happy Birthday to me!!!

Yumm!!! Buttercups cupcakes to celebrate!

FYI- today is also Max's four month birthday! More on him after we hit up the doctor's office for his checkup on Thursday!

Day 353

Bailey and Max with their cousin Lily at Daddy's office Christmas lunch

(Lily was wearing Bailey's dress from her first Christmas- *sniff* *sniff*)

Day 352

We were very surprised to see where our silly elf Guillermo was this morning. He had strapped himself onto Daddy's remote control racecar (David got this as an office gift exchange gift and I can guarantee that this was the perfect gift for us.) Bailey had a little bit of success driving it herself, however she really liked it when Daddy drove it through her legs and chased her around! Guillermo had a wild ride! Max liked it too- Izzie, not so much!

Day 351- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The post many of you have been waiting for... pictures from our third annual Tacky Christmas Party!!! So sad that I didn't get pictures of everybody (I took some in the beginning and more folks arrived later so I didn't catch them. Okay, let's be honest- this was my first night away from the kids in a while and the daiquiri caught up with me!!!). We had tons of fun and everybody looked great (well okay, they looked pretty tacky, but that's what we were going for)! Since these parties are so popular these days, it's hard to find 80s sweaters unless you're willing to pay top dollar on eBay. So we had lots of homemade outfits this year (you know I'm a sucker for a glue gun!!!) Here's some highlights!

me and David (my homemade leg lamp costume won me the prize!!!)

David's sweatshirt said Official Mistletoe Tester on it so we made him a mistletoe Santa hat to go with it

Day 350- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Tis the season for Christmas specials on TV!!! I have DVRed all the old faithfuls, however Chippy The Elf on the Shelf was by far this year's favorite! (if I hear "Extravaganzalorious" one more time I think I'm going to scream!!!) Even little Max joined in watching with Big Sis!

Day 349- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Today was our annual Gingerbread Man Scavenger Hunt! Bailey enjoyed this so much last year that I saved the clues I made up and added some more for this year's hunt. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy the gingerbread cookies to have as the ending prize so our stuffed man had to suffice!

Day 348- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

FINALLY finished my mesh wreath!!!

Day 347- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Bailey and her precious best friend Chloe!

Today was Bailey's Christmas program at school and she was super excited! Max and I went to watch her and, of course, he woke up hungry from his nap RIGHT before Bailey's class came on to sing. Therefore, my pictures of the program didn't really turn out because I was trying to hold him and prevent a crying spell that would get us kicked out! Bailey did a great job though and came home full of the holy spirit. If only I had a video of her standing on the fireplace hearth in just her blouse and panties shouting, "Hear the good news of the glory, glory of God. It's the fifth day of Christmas. Alleluia!!! Glory, glory to God and Jesus. Amen. Alleluia!" It was hilarious! I think I have a little Tammy Faye on my hands!!!

Day 346- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

O Christmas Tree!!! (can't decide which pic is my favorite, so you get both!)

Day 345- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

My mom was so sweet to keep Bailey this weekend and they made a gingerbread house together (which turned out a lot better than my attempt last year!). However, everytime I turn around I see little fingers breaking off pieces of roof and windows!

Day 344- The Adventures of Guillermo the Elf

Guillermo just sewing up a little something for Christmas!

Day 343- The Adventures of Guillermo the Elf

Day 342- The Adventures of Guillermo the Elf

Day 341- The Adventures of Guillermo the Elf

Day 340- The Adventures of Guillermo the Elf

Just relaxin!

Day 339- The Adventures of Guillermo the Elf

Gotta keep up that good oral hygeine!!!

Day 338- The Adventures of Guillermo the Elf

Just having a little elf breakfast!

Day 337

All of this Christmas decorating has tired Max out already!!!

Day 336

Today was the long-awaited visit to the Polar Express! Bailey was SOOOO excited! We barely made it in time to catch the train. And unfortunately our friends Holly, Jonathan, and Nolan missed the train because they got lost. Luckily they were able to catch the next one and then meet up with us afterward for dinner. Bailey had a magical time and Max slept pretty much the whole time (which I guess means he had a blast too!)

All Aboard!

Wide-Eyed with Wonder

Are we at the North Pole yet???

Here comes Santa Claus!!!

Mommy and Bailey

Bailey's Bell

Day 335

Max celebrated Poopapalooza this morning!!! If I would have been warned I would have adorned my necessary trashbag and hazmat face mask for the occasion! I swear no poop whatsoever wound up in his diaper- it, in turn, wound up on his pants and shirt, my pants and shirt, the boppy, a bib, two burp cloths, the changing table cover, and the floor!!! How can something so little make such a huge mess?!?!?

Day 334

My two snuggle buddies!

Day 333

Today was the day that out elf Guillermo arrived!!!

Day 332

Merry Christmas from my two jolly little elves! Since today was Cyber Monday, I had to act fast to get a good Christmas card pic of the kids and order my cards. Miraculously, they were quite cooperative! My snowflake Christmas light background was a flop, so we improvised with the wrapping paper wall background! They're not perfect, but hey- they're kids!

I did NOT tell her to pose like this! This cracks me up!

Day 331

Splish Splash! Max LOVES bathtime and has discovered how to kick his legs in the tub! He's also realized that if he kicks hard enough, he can splash water all over the bathroom mirror! So glad that I have two water-babies!!!

Day 330

Popcorn Experiment! My mom told me that if you put an ear of Indian corn in the microwave, the kernals will pop on the ear. We tried it and sure enough it worked! Here's a before and after shot!

I wish I could take a picture of the before and after smell of my microwave- not so much of a success! It seems that I left the corn in there a little longer than I should have and it burned!

Day 329

BLACK FRIDAY!!!!!!! Whooo-hoo!!! I wish I had felt better (I think the surgery recovery plus cleaning my house for Thanksgiving plus the lack of sleep left me in a little less than tip-top Black Friday shape, but it was fun nonetheless!)

I have gone BF shopping with my friends Mindy and Elise for the past 3 years now and it has become a yearly tradition that we all look forward to. Yes, some may call us crazy for beginning our shopping escapades at 10PM at night, but we have a great time and get a lot accomplished!

Elise has mastered the art of getting the best BF deal (notice how she is researching items on her phone, iPad, and in paper ads all at the same time!!!) I can only hope to one day aspire to this level of shopping domination!

Taking a break to refuel at Strawns at about 2AM!
