Day 317- Thankful!

Many people are doing the month of thankfulness stuff on facebook, but I never got around to starting that, so this week I'll do a theme about things I'm thankful for.

I will be completely honest and admit that these pictures are not from today, they're from last night. So I hope you'll all forgive me. But I couldn't let these be passed up. Today I am thankful for all of God's beauty in this world. How can anyone look at a view like this and claim there is no God? I am also thankful that I live in a place where a view like this is possible very often! I know I often complain about "The Money Pit," but as my header says, "the view makes it all worthwhile!"

Day 316

My mom and grandmother hosted a Sip and See for Max today. He was a perfect angel, and a cute one at that! He was absolutely precious smiling and laughing at her. I am so thankful that my children have had the opportunity to spend time with their great-grandparents, something not all little children get to do!

Day 315

Note to self: if any of my children (or even the children of my worst enemy, for that matter!) ever has the croup again and the doctor prescribes steroid treatment, I will politely take that prescription and throw it in the garbage because steroids are the work of the devil for young children!!!!!!!

Poor Bailey- she has really had a rough week. On top of not feeling well and having violent coughing attacks, she's been on these awful steroids that make her like Dr. Jeckell and Mr. Hyde. She's a perfect angel one minute and Charlie Sheen the next!

This picture pretty much sums up our week. Things to notice:

  • On top of the fridge are the candy bowl and a stuffed animal (both things that have been taken away from Bailey because of her tantrums)

  • On the floor are magnets (many broken) and pictures that used to be on the fridge, but while I was nursing Max today she proceeded to violently take them all off and throw them all over the kitchen floor

  • In front of the fridge you will see two chairs stacked on top of each other, as my child was about to climb to her death to try to reach her stuffed animal on top of the fridge

  • On the right side of the picture is Charlie Sheen's arm as she screams at me, "Mommy, it's not funny! Put your camera away!!!"

Day 314

No, I didn't take my kid to a smokey bar... this is the story of our life right now!

I had to go out and buy another humidifier because both of the kids are currently needing one (Bailey has the croup and Max is just stuffy at night). After one too many nights of moving the humidifier from one child's room to the other at 3 AM, I broke down and bought another one. And Bailey couldn't be happier! I may vow to never buy my children toys again because she can have a blast with normal household objects. She has thoroughly enjoyed putting her hands in her "air" and getting them wet. And she loves turning the steam level up and down and watching the steam billow out. She has also realized that she can fit inside the humidifier box and likes to contort herself like Houdini to fit in it- still waiting to capture this one on film!

Day 313

It's a new day, and after a rough night in the Doyal household, I intend upon approaching this day with a new (and more positive, I hope) attitude. Took a few minutes this morning while the kids were asleep to go outside and snap a few pictures of the turning trees. WOW- it's getting cold out there!

Day 312

Lindsey Caroon- this one's for you!

Anyone else wanting an explaination for this picture must call and be subjected to story of the disaster that is my life right now!

Day 311

Who says all pictures have to capture a smile? This was as honest of a reaction that I could get from B today. She has a horrible barking cough and has been running fever. She also has lost her voice (which I'm secretly a little happy about since that child talks from sun up til sundown!) Looks like tomorrow is going to be a Mid City kinda day! BOOOOO!!!

Day 310

It didn't take us long to realize that, soon after Bailey was born, she was in love with stuffed animals! Actually "in love" is probably an understatement because it's more like "obsessed." They go everywhere with her, and I don't just mean a few- the entire lot. Frankly, they're invading my house! We've had to put some away in the closet for periodic change-outs, which she was surprisingly okay with, but there is still an over-abundant number of buddies around our house at any given time.

Over the past week, I've begun to realize that Little Brother is following quickly in Big Sister's footsteps. David's mother bought him this blue teddy bear before he was born. Since I'm not vying for the title of "Mom of the Year," I keep it in his crib and sometimes have been known to let him snuggle with it at nap/night time (thank God for the AngelCare baby monitor!). In the past few days though, his affection for this bear has grown and it's quite amusing. If he's fussing, I'll simply give him the teddy, he puts his chubby little death grib on it, rubs it on his face, gives a huge grin, and then falls right to sleep!

Day 309

The face of a baby who slept until 8 o'clock this morning!!! If Mommy had on makeup, I'd take my picture and show an even happier face!!!

Day 308

Just taking a few minutes to brag on my beautiful babies! People have always commented on both of their long eyelashes (David and I have long eyelashes as well, so they get it honest)!

Day 307

With Bailey around, you never know what you're going to find! That girl has quite an imagination.

Today we had animals having naptime...

and puppies in time-out (she claims the puppies tee-teed in their panties so they were in trouble)!
