Feeling Nostalgic- Day 147

This crib has certainly served us well! And although B has been out of it for a while now, it still makes me a little nervous (yet excited) about our new family member who will soon be sawing logs in this comfy bed!

Here are some shots of little B and her first bed!

6 months- She used to cover her eyes all the time when she slept!

15 months- Fell asleep sitting up and then plopped over.

18 months- first night with her new big girl pillow!

Feeling Nostalgic- Day 146

I found Bailey in Max's room the other day playing with some baby toys. Most of the toys we'll be able to use again, but there was a sack of pink dolls and animals that she loved when she was smaller. I had put them in a box about a year ago to give away, but now B has a new-found admiration for them. Funny how your kids seem to have sixth sense about those things!

Feeling Nostalgic- Day 145

Trying to get little Max's closet ready so he'll have something to wear upon his arrival.

Which, of course, means going through some of Bailey's old things. Holding these tiny newborn size clothes leaves me in awe that my big 3 year old was once tiny enough to fit in something the size of a baby doll. Wow! These hormones are really getting to me!!!

Day 144

Still "feeling nostalgic" today but our current photos will focus on the present as this was an exciting day amongst nature at the Doyal house. As always, my little nature scout (Izzie) found something perplexing in the backyard. Actually two things: a turtle and a frog. Mommy had an interesting time trying to capture them (especially the frog) for Bailey to see. She thought they'd like to live together for a little while.

A little while turned into just a few minutes because the frisky frog was none too happy with his new roommate. So I convinced Bailey to walk down to the water with me and give them a better home. She was brave enough to carry the frog in her bucket down there.

We picked out a good spot by the water and Bailey released both animals. Look closely in this picture and you can see the poor frog's legs being rudely ejected from the bucket!

And here are our animal friends in their new homes. Hope it's safer down there than it is up here!!!

Feeling Nostalgic- Day 143

Okay- cue the high-pitched, annoying baby voice! Today I went through Bailey's old baby shoes and, as always, I can't believe how tiny her feet once were.

Here's 2 shots of her first pairs of white church shoes and tennis shoes compared with her shoes from today.

Praying that tomorrow will be a better day. B had 101.5+ fever all day today and didn't feel well. Hope this isn't the start of something...

Day 142- Feeling Nostalgic

Feeling a little nostalgic lately. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones! I've been going through Bailey's baby clothes and getting out baby toys and other things for little Max's room. It has made me quite sad though to look through all those things that remind me that my growing girl isn't a baby anymore. So this week, I'll be comparing my BIG baby girl to memories of my LITTLE baby girl!

Here's Bailey at 5 months old in her new baby pool. This little fishie has always LOVED the water!

And here we are 3 years later, same pool! However, it seems we lost our swimsuit. (She was pretending to be a whale- I guess swimsuits really slow the whale down!)

Well, here's some proof she DID have one on at first. But the minute I turned my back, it was gone. Glad we live out in the "country" so no one had to witness my little streaker!
